Criteria for dish Inclusion in the Canon
A food tradition constitutes as Black British Soul Food™ when it is transmitted through the Black British population and materially re-shaped within Britain under imperial, industrial, and domestic British conditions. These foods carry the fingerprints of colonial circulation without being authored by Britain itself.
A modern dish belongs to this culinary tradition if it is derived from a foundational flavour system or preparation logic, and satisfies at least three conditions within the pyramid.
